Matt Hay is a dedicated educator with over 20 years of experience who is passionate about fostering positive change in youth and communities. His career includes roles as a teacher, soccer coach, and mentor in public schools in Chicago and Hartford, CT.
Throughout his tenure, Matt has contributed to school-wide improvement plans and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) programs. His initiatives focus on defining student expectations, enhancing school culture, and addressing challenges such as tardiness and attendance. He is skilled in developing relationships with students and supporting educators and adults to create supportive learning environments.
Certified by the International Institute for Restorative Practices (IIRP), Matt is well-versed in Trauma-Responsive approaches and Juvenile Justice Reform strategies. He leverages restorative circles and nurturing relationships to strengthen classroom dynamics and foster a sense of community.
Matt continues to advocate for inclusive and transformative educational practices that empower students and cultivate a positive school environment.
